Can you enlighten us as to how you used the Q Point to tune your system? I'm totally ignorant of this device.Where did you put the Q Point?

On the dac and streamerWhere did you put the Q Point?
More precisely I placed it directly on the transformer of my DAC.

My friend used two Q Point on each of his giant box and component. I would advise trying one on your DAC to start with to see if you like it. Actually I think just one on the dac is significant enough. Can you enlighten us as to how you used the Q Point to tune your system? I'm totally ignorant of this device.

What do you mean with on the DAC, isn't this device supposed to manipulate electromagnetic fields around it?My friend used two Q Point on each of his giant box and component. That would work in all directions around it.
I'm sceptical that it does anything audible at all, but I've never seen such a device before
I mean putting Q point physically on top of the DAC to manipulate electromagnetic fields around it ( you could also put it on the bottom of your DAC if the feet of your DAC are tall enough)What do you mean with on the DAC, isn't this device supposed to manipulate electromagnetic fields around it?

For some systems and scenarios where I feel the effect is too audible, and too strong or when I want a tad less, I would just unplug the Qpoint while leaving on the dac.
It is really affordable plus some dealer offers free return, why not try first and then tell me otherwise.

Amazing results with the isolation from HRS.
Take:
More harmonics,
body,
musicality,
analogousness,
control,
more correct vocals placement
naturalism
separation
position
spatial accuracy
organic textures of instruments
smoothness
macro-details
Give:
dynamics,
slam
speed

The source T2 needs and deserves
A. The checklist for Weiss DAC:
• clean to avoid jitters, noise, consonance:
• free of digital glares to avoid sibilance:
• not overly loaded to keep its full speed:
• true to source with minimal colorization:
• great body, tonal density, and fullness
• low extension and slam
7.8/10
• macro details and spatial presentation
9/10
• micro details and stereo imaging
8/10
• naturalism/ analogueness
8/10
Deal breaker:
Lack of muscles, fullness, and beef in the case with T2 ( I heard Weiss DAC slams in many loudspeaker systems including mine: but I am only talking about the specific case matching with T2)
B. The checklist for Mola Mola:
• clean to avoid jitters, noise, consonance:
• free of digital glares to avoid sibilance:
• not overly loaded to keep its full speed:
• true to source with minimal colorization:
• great body, tonal density and fullness:
• low extension and slam:
8/10
• macro details and spatial presentation
9/10
• micro details and stereo imaging
9/10
• naturalism/ analogueness
7/10
Deal breaker:
Hifi “MSG” & Colorization ( as you know you are always listening to the DAC for me that is colorization. For me the perfect source should be almighty as well as “invisible” for being neutral and colorless)
C. The Checklist for Bricasti:
• clean to avoid jitters, noise, consonance:
• free of digital glares to avoid sibilance:
• not overly loaded to keep its full speed:
• true to source with minimal colorization:
• great body, tonal density and fullness:
• low extension and slam
7/10
• macro details and spatial presentation
7.5/10
• micro details and stereo imaging
6/10
• naturalism/ analogueness
9.5/10
Deal breaker:
Much less clean, detailed and controlled
DACs to be reviewed:
Linn Mono Organik,
Mytek Empire ( my best bet)
Emm Labs DA2,
Soulnote 3…

great dynamics, body, and slam:
so.... poor dynamics no body no slam?
I rearranged and separate them into two categories in that many DACs have great body but no slam nor low extension.so.... poor dynamics no body no slam?

Any chance you can include dac 200 from t+a in your list?
You read my mind!Any chance you can include dac 200 from t+a in your list?
WILL DO!
My assumption is it might have better macro details and spatial presentation but then less good in all other aspects than also ESS 9038pro based Mytek Empire.
Empire is a perfect match to Grand Cayman, so it should be also amazing with T2, as they are similar in so many ways.

Love reading DAC comparisons, but I reckon this deserves its own thread — for the DAC write-up’s sake and Eksonic’s.
Agree! it is also hard to rank DACs without specifying the amp in that I have experienced many DACs excellent in many aspects but sound off, odd and incoherent with certain amps. Currently I’m seeking the end game source exclusively just for T2.Love reading DAC comparisons, but I reckon this deserves its own thread — for the DAC write-up’s sake and Eksonic’s.
