I still can’t shake the grin that spreads across my face every time I see what Aumkar Chandan is up to. Just weeks away from turning 28, he has already built a legacy that few ever achieve in a lifetime. I honestly feel privileged to be around at the same time as this young light of our community. Having followed the industry for years, I'm particularly fulfilled to see an enthusiast who's so selfless in sharing his passion with the world. Aumkar is mature, serious about his craft, and patient in executing his vision. The way he looks to the industry’s masters, unafraid to learn and grow, shows that he has genuine respect for the craft. He isn't driven by ego, and that's why he's already well on the path to greatness.

Despite his boundless ambition (if you’ve peeked at his personal socials, you know how expansive it runs beyond audio), releases from Kaldas Research aren't frequent—in fact, there has only been one so far. You see, Kaldas Research isn't about chasing trends or selling the most units. It's about crafting something worthy of the legacy the Kaldas name carries. Needless to say, the Kaldas team works very hard behind closed doors. Not to take anything away from Aumkar’s leadership, but Kaldas Research is, at its heart, a team effort.

The RR1 Conquest was a truly special headphone, and I’m certainly not alone in having awaited its follow-up ever since. Well, it’s here at last. Olympia now claims the open-back flagship spot. For now, we can only speculate, but given its closed-back sibling, the INOX ($1799), was obsessively engineered around measurements—achieving industry-leading numbers—it's reasonable to expect Olympia underwent the same treatement. Both of these flagships are world-class products backed by the company's trademark build quality and design. They must be deeply personal to Aumkar. Otherwise, he wouldn't have released them under the Kaldas name.

I’m thrilled to learn more about Olympia, but for now, the only thing left to do is wait. If you’ve had a listen or are lucky enough to already own one, let us know what you think!

From Kaldas Research’s latest Instagram reveal, the reworked headband mechanism alone looks incredible.

From what I gather, an exceptional effort went into polishing the titanium headband part, which in of itself is a serious bit of engineering to achieve the correct shape and spring/clamping force.

So much attention to detail here.

It's amazing to see Aumkar's evolution as a manufacturer. The RR1 Conquest debuted with its conceptual design and showcased stellar technical performance. The CAL.1H challenged industry manufacturing standards, proving Aumkar's ability to push the boundaries of build quality. Now Olympia and INOX fuse both strengths into their most mature, refined expressions yet.

Not sure everyone shares my view, but having someone so early in their career focused on delivering genuine value and uncompromising quality feels like a win for our entire community.

Just imagine where the company will be in 10 or 30 years!? 🤴
