Wait! I fixed it! It was stuck in firmware update mode as a previous poster suggested. I assumed it needed to be detected by the fiio control app in order to run the firmware update mode, but during the process it gets changed mode so that the chip can be overwritten, and it disconnects from PC. This made me think it was bricked. It works now! Thanks to those that commented.
My KA3 is not recognised anymore by any phone or pc. I've tried 2 usb-c cables both good. However when i connect it to any device(phone,pc) the blue light does light up .
i'm not sure if this niche product really fits into the category of portable amp
kb3 seems to be a tkl mechanical keyboard integrated with kb13 into it. the gateron yellow switches are not to my liking and lack clicky and crisp response. rgb lighting effect by function key control is not very convenient and there's no software to fiddling with for keymapping or other functions too. the translucent keycaps are totally unrecognizable when rgb lighting effect comes on.
the dac/amp part is good though. i plugged my expanse into the 4.4mm headphone out and kb3 drives the very demanding expanse to more than adequate listening level at just vol 65! it's very convenient to have 4.4mm out in the keyboard to be able to switching iems/overears with my desktop
not for everyone (especially when the main functional part, i.e. the keyboard) is just so so. but a brave attempt from fiio anyway and definitely a very useful function to build in 4.4mm phone out into keyboard!

Unlikely, I don't think the ka13 has the onboard storage for peq settings to be saved. I don't think they intended to add the feature down the line either.
