I'm considering a future K701/2 purchase and am wondering if there are any owners (of those or any AKG phone with a similar headband design) out there who, like me, enjoy listening to music for extended time periods while lying flat on your back. With "normal" headband designs this is no problem; I just shorten the headband a bit more than I would for sitting up, and that keeps the cans from falling off my head. I'm wondering though whether the unique AKG headband design would work for this given its non-adjustability. Thanks.

yes flat on your back they are great. With my k702's the removable cord bothers me a tad but on the k701 it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the encouraging replies. I have a feeling there may be a K701 in my future.

I use mine lying in bed most of the time, very comfortable and no loss in sound quality

I like 701 a lot except it is not that comfortable enough to go sleep with it.. maybe I have a big head..

No problems with me and mine.

maybe my head is a bit small, they tend to slip to somewhere else and that sometimes ruins the soundstage~
but I can surely have a sound sleep with them on my head and some classical pieces playing along :D

The K701's gets my vote. I have used them for lying on my couch, not for sleeping with them...as im afraid to break them.
