Today i presenced a situation that the K701 huge soundstage was totally confirmed by a complete high end headphone gear noob.

My cousin tried for the first time my K701. He started to listen to it and seddendly stops. I ask then what was going on. Then he described me SOUNDSTAGE even without never, ever been listen to any terms for defining sound.

He told me: "looks like i can percept where the band are playing. I can hear like the bass comming from the left, voice centralized, strings in front, drums in the back, etc. It's a weird sensation, but i just can. Is this normal?"

I was pleased as a baby child when sees candy.
Any need of K701 soundstage proof other than this ... ?

The AKGs do have a vast soundstage (much more so compared to Senns generally). In terms of reality (or perhaps coherence) though, I feel the K340 still betters its newer cousins. Of course, my speakers still 'soundstage' better than headphones generally can.

As headphones go, the 701's do 'stage better compared to my old reference cans (HD600), and the AKG's are much more comfortable!

Teach him a lesson. Head-fi got me buying things that I don't even want. I rarely listen to music but I'm buying more gear than I know what to do with. Sigh
