So they're "K1000 drivers in CD3000 housing". I never heard of the CD3000. But these cans look sweet.

Err I thought the whole point of the k1000 housing was meant to replicate speakers (correct me if I'm wrong)? So wouldn't bunging them in the cd3000 housing be deviating from what the k1000 drivers were designed for? And why cd3000 housing in particular? I'd thought some nice Audio-Technica woody would be used?

ATs are closed, (EDIT: Wooden ATs are closed) I guess the K1000 drivers only work well when they have open air? The picture does show a wooden, open-backed housing. I'd be tempted, if I had the cash, and if there were people on these forums giving their opinions of the sound. But these seem to be almost once-off, so whoever buys them is doing so on faith

cd3000 shells were chosen because cd3000s are supremely comfortable, easy to modify to add wood cups, and sound like poo, so there's no travesty in removing the drivers
