Listen to any of her live performances that is not mixed and mastered (say from a DVD) and you will clearly find her rather tone deaf, certainly off key much of the time and she can't hit the highs she does on her albums. Now does that sound closer to a slam? It should, because it was one.

LOL! I hope I didn't come off that brash. I don't take your dislike for K.D. personal. And I think her fan base is safe. I was just surprised, as I hadn't heard of anyone really disliking her.
Oh and I'm not a big Madonna fan. As a singer...meh, as a marketing genius five gold stars!
How do you feel about her voice on Hymns Of The 49th Parallel? Is it just the strength of the songs that you like, or do you feel she's taken on a different approach to the way she sings them?

Nope, I was cool with your post. Just that after I explained different strokes etc in the follow up, I was again chanllenged. That urked me.

On Hymns, I like it a lot, it is subdued, choice of songs mostly at work there. The strength of the songs is a plus, but there is something magical going on there and well, I don't know...I just like it a lot. The album works for me, and so I took a chance, bought it and really appreciate the album.

Yeah It's funny how now and then a singer that you've never cared for can cut a track or an album that makes you say "Where did that come from?" I've encountered that phenominon a few times myself. But not from Madonna yet.
