JVC Marshmallows V2 are here! Introducing the JVC HA-FX66!

The Circuit Cities near me were unwilling to do a price match on the FX66. They all said, 'we only do price matching with local competitors'. It must have been a really generous manager to allow Amazon price matching.

So how do the Air Cushions compare with the Super.fi 3 and D-Jays? I am considering these last two, but it sure would save me a lot of money if the Air Cushions were just as good. Also, how's the isolation, and do they have foam tips?

They come with "standard" tips and Marshmallow style foam tips.

They were marked $35 at my local CC. They are also $35 at circuitcity.com so you can always PM to there and save $5.

Are these low profile when they're in your ears? With marshmallows, i could stick em deep into my ear and they'd pretty much disappear. Excellent for sleeping.

They're pretty low profile. You should be able to sleep with them in no problem.

Do the Marshmallows and Aircushions use J or Y cables?

The Marshmallows have a Y cord with a cord cinch. I don't know about the Aircushions.

Although I just ordered a pair of EP630s. Are Marshmallows better than EP630s, if so I'll cancel my order?

Oh, and sorry for taking this thread off topic.

My Sharp MD33s had a problem last week with one side going out - I was able to restore with a thorough cleaning, but this got me to thinking that I needed a "spare" pair for an upcoming international trip. I went to Circuit City with the Amazon printout, and happened to run into the manager in the store. He said that they do not normally price match Amazon, but I guess he was feeling generous because he chose to anyway, so I got a pair for a little over $22 including tax.

When I first tried them out, I found them to be lacking in bass compared to the MD33s (I like lots of bass,) but after several hours to burn-in, the bass settled in to at least equivalent to the MD33s, but the midrange and treble are far better than the MD33s, with much better details in vocals and instruments being audible.

I believe that the JVCs will become my primary "airplane" choice with the Sharp MD33s demoted to "spares."

The JVC air cushions do have a "Y" cord. I have not decided whether I like it better than the "J" cord on the MD33s. With the "J" cord, if you take out the earphones on the plane when you need to hear, you can just leave them draped around your neck.

I'm sure it comes to personal preference - But I like my ep630s a lot more than marshmallows. I am looking forward to trying these new marchmallows.
