Reading an old thread from July it mentioned these for less than 20 dollars but nobody mentioned where. Etronics was semi mentioned and a google search showed they HAD them but no longer. So was that the only place or what? I know discontinued etc.

Thank you.

Those are long discontinued. eTronics apparently came across a load of these and had them for sale at only $19.99. Some Head-Fier's got in on the deal at the time, but were quickly dissappointed when their headphones arrived in poor condition with mold on them. Hence the nickname "fungus phones". There should be at least a thread or two on the subject.

I don't know of any source of these at this time.

A long dead, one-time deal that turned out to be a deal only for a very select few that actually got phones in decent condition...

It might be worth looking on ebay because those posting on the huge thread who had non-fungoidal copies all seemed to think they were super for the price.

Hi,
The JVC HA-D990 is a "highly recommended" at a bottom of Class C by Stereophile magazine in the early 90's. If you can hunt down one for under 50 dollars, it is very hard to beat. BTW, the Sony MDR-V6 was rated as "recommended" in a Class D.
