Definitely Summer Nights from 5150. But then again I love Take Me Back (Deja Vu) from Balance.

Aint talkin/ bout love - does it for me. Eds guitar tone sounds so clean throughout the tune. The solo is 2 separate tracks, one in the right and the other in the left, simple but really cool effect. Ted Templeman did a wonderful job in those early sessions.

I friek'd when I first heard that tune on the radio. I was taking guitar lessons... "WHOA!!! a les Paul with crazy dive bombing tremolo"

My fave solo isn't a VH tune at all... "Beat it" (michael jackson) has IMHO one of Eds best solos. Steve Lukather did the main rhythm riff, although its always Ed who gets credit for it.

I second 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love'.

Though both Van Halen and 1984 haven't left my CDP since I bought the thing.

Panama and Jump - simply because they rock and serve as anthems of the 1980s.

Diamond Dave and Eddie - together they defined the decade.

BTW - Who was it who said, "Who wants to hear the best guitar player in the world play keyboard"?
