Good for you then. Did you mean treble booster? IE8 has quite a polite treble already. And EQ on Ipod is never good, with its level of distortion.

nope i meant treble reducer :)

i hate treble as much as an average audiophool hates bass :)

read my article here:

i would have used bass booster instead but id1otic iPhone distorts on the bass booster preset.

my father has a sony W995 phone and it has a MUCH nicer equalizer.  the sony is not as loud however, which would not be a problem for IE8 but would be a huge problem with HD650 for example.  anyway iPhone is the better phone overall.  i got these two phones at the same time - iPhone for myself and W995 for pops.  he didn't need a smartphone.

Just shows you how right Sennheiser was to make these things the way they did - there's always a market for that

Audiophile don't hate bass. They just want it to be there, when the music has it, and not there, when the music does not have it.

none of you have ever heard bass in your lives.

bass is a wall of these:

driving a wall of these:

when your muscles are getting ripped off your bones - that's bass.

bass is like money, and audiophiles are like communists.  they want none for themselves and will give their lives to make sure nobody else gets it either.

yeah, i am also surprised they made it.  it makes NO SENSE.  they made an audiophile priced headphone for people who are actually not mentally ill.  they probably figured that most audiophiles are posers and on the inside they are not really deaf :)  they figured people will buy it, love it, and post on the internet how they hate it and how excessive the bass is - upon hearing which all their friends will rush to get themselves some as well.

that's why i got it - because every review said that it has too much bass.  when i read that i realized that there was actually a chance that it might have *enough* bass.  it doesn't.  but it comes pretty close !  it's not Sennheiser's fault that iPhone doesn't have a mega bass button.

it's kinda like when Porsche made an SUV everybody knew that was just WRONG and but they sold like pancakes :)

The intention of my message was to suggest that Sennheiser made a good commercial decision. I did not enjoy the IE7 sound signature, and what other people enjoy is none of my business.
