Just got a used tube amp and having problems. Need help.

Well, I have to confess, Jack's reply makes sense - it's very hard to imagine how the design would have worked with the 6922 - this would have meant THREE pairs of dual-triodes in one version, and then in the next the much more normal 2 pairs (on set for drivers and one for "power"), and then the two rectifier tubes.

What I do NOT understand is how the amp worked AT ALL with the 6922's in place of the rectifier tubes. The only thing I can come up with is that the WA4 you have was somehow massively modified (although the amp in HeatFan's link that was owned by LeChuck clearly shows 6922's and not any rectifier tube, and I could swear that the picture on Woo's own website looks like 6922's in there!)

Other thoughts from actual WA4 owners?

Checking archive.org for historical views of the WA4 product page:

2006
Two 6922 / 6DJ8 - pre amplifier dual triode in parallel
Two ECC82 / 12AU7 - drive dual triode in parallel
Two 6C19 - power amplifier single triode

This remains the same throughout 2006, 2007 and at the last archived page in 2008. I am not sure when the change was made (to the amp, the product page, or both) to the current config:
ECC82 / 12AU7 - drive tube, dual triode in parallel, one per channel
6C19 - power tube single triode, one per channel
Two EZ80 - rectifier tubes

How incredibly odd that makes Jack's reply. "You know it's gonna get stranger..."

i always thought lechuck's wa4 was upgraded with blackgates but was
essentially a rectified unit with output transformers... one step above the
wa6 mainly due to the separate drive and power sections for better tube
rolling...
