Just purchased them two days ago and they sound great!

Today, however, while watching random videos around the web, I loaded one up and it started playing.
Little did I know that the video automatically started at 100% volume. Also, the master volume on my computer was ~75% so, ultimately... there was like 5 seconds of pure loudness of 'boom noises (Diablo 3 trailer thing)'

Of course, with the Asus Xonar Essence STX having a built in amplifier, is there a possibility that it could have maybe broke or damaged my headset due to the fact it was extremely loud?

Thanks!

Doubtful, just keep an ear open for any rattles or distortion. They're probably fine, though.

There always the possibility but for only 5 sec I think you will be fine, Is there a big change in the sound? if anything went wrong then I would think the driver was blew but you would know if that was the case (it would sound like rossie odanald ofter a night a taco bell)

Did you have the gain on the card set to normal? That hp does not need anything past normal or you will damage it.
