Wadia 151PowerDac Mini (Black): $1195
To complement the hugely successful 170iTransport, Wadia has developed new technologies that enable us to once again bring simplicity and elegance to a new and dramatically more affordable Wadia decoding product – the Wadia 151PowerDAC mini. The Wadia 151 takes all of the conceptual purity of the original Reference PowerDAC™ and reduces these elements to their most cost effective form.

The Wadia 151PowerDAC mini is a high performance DAC and surprisingly powerful amp combined into the series 1 chassis. The 151PowerDAC mini measures 2”x 8”x 8” (H x W x D) which is the same size as the 170iTransport; making it an ideal audio solution for modern living and work spaces. You can use an existing CD/DVD player with a digital coax or Toslink output, your computer with USB or perhaps the Wadia 170iTransport. Add a pair of your favorite speakers to the 151PowerDAC mini for a complete music system.

The Wadia 151PowerDAC is a high performance DAC with gain, which provides four selectable digital audio inputs (one USB, one TOSLINK, and two coax S/PDIF). Power output is conservatively rated at 25 WPC into 8 Ohms and 50 WPC in 4 Ohms.

The PowerDAC mini uses the proprietary Wadia DigiMaster reconstruction filters just like Wadia’s original, Reference PowerDAC. The 151 uses spline interpolation to raise digital audio data rates to 384kHz for high performance conversion

The 151 will include a metal remote that can also control the 170iTransport.

The only thing that is small about the 151PowerDAC mini’s is its size.

iPhone/iPod/iPad 's will not pass a digital signal via USB. You still need a iTransport.

Quote:
will this accept a digital signal from an iPhone/iPod/iPad via usb input, or is the iTransport still necessary?...

Waw, it sounds great that Wadia produces „portable“ DAC’s connectable with computer or iPOD. Moon Audio, are you distributor for Wadia company or you are directly from Wadia? Could be possible to realize the cooperation about the application for special projects for information accessibilities for blinds (especially for math or science accessibilities for low sighted or blinds), where I am interested? You can contact me by email or PM. Thanks for your info.

Dear Drew,
So it has powered headphone amplifier section in Wadia 151, is it optional or already builtin?
It has a USB in , is it also a streamer that brings out 24/96 or 24/192 or more than that?  is this to be used with the computer?
Is the headphone section designed by Ray Samuels? is it a solid state amplifier?   Is it powerful enough to drive HE6?
Why there are 3 components in the 3rd picture : the top one wadia 170i, wadia 151 and what is the other one?  Is the
3rd one a speaker amplifier?  Do they need the speaker post to drive HE6 or just the headphone section?

It does not have a Headphone Output. No Ray Samuels headphone amp. It has binding posts and was design for small monitors. However we have been using it with the HiFiman HE5LE and HE6 with Moon Audio Headphone cables terminated with spades or bananas with great results.
Yes it has a USB input for streaming Audio from your computer, USB—24-bit/96kHz, other inputs can accept up to a 24-bit/192kHz
Class D digital Amplifier section. It is digital all the way through and converted just prior to the Binding posts.
The 3rd piece was a Prototype of an AC conditioner.

Picture here with HE6:
