Right now I'm sitting on a little more than $800 and I'm looking to upgrade over my TF10 after a little research I like the 10x3. The problem is I have absolutely no portable setup so, if I drop down to the JH7 I'll have a few buck to get a amp.

Anyway, should I go for the 10x3 by itself or the JH7 with a little setup too. Any other suggestions would be helpful too, I mostly listen to Jazz/Ska, Rock, Classical

You could get a used JH-13 and have it remolded for around $850, if you have enough and provided you can get impressions for fairly cheap.

i would say to get the 10x3 for that price, though saving up a bit and getting the 13's would be the best choice. I would avoid going the remold route, for the exact reason of phase tuning in the sound tubes, i dont think that UM and fischer do it at all. as far as comparing the 10x3 to the 7 with an amp, the 10x3 with be better, amps dont make as big of a difference as the transducer
