Whoa just got these and out the case they sound AMAZING. Playing Patricia Barber Yellow Car III(Instrumental) and everything is clear and separation is great. It's feels like the band is here. Crap.

Raquel Rodriguez Not My Night has a nice horn and Wah-wah guitar that sounds amazing. Her vocals are clear as a bell and the bass/drum cybals is just right. No BOOM here folks. Grace Weber's Only You Set Me Free acoustic opening is clear as the guitar players pick the acual strum. The Tamborine is clear in the background(never heard that before) Being that these are my first JBL headphones(I had a couple of JBL speakers, but they drowned) I'm amazed. Gotta get the Fiona Apple stuff out I bet I will hear stuff I've never heard For $55 ebay shipped these are a steal. I bet you guys would love them. Oh and they are comfy.

Ordered the s500 and getting them this week. I am looking forward to checking these out. Still not a ton of reviews out there but enough positive ones for me to pull the trigger on a Groupon steal nib. $68 and tax for as set of cans that while may not be the best at full retail are likely jems for what I paid.

Be sure to comment on them when you get it, I'm also interested in S500 since it seems to be measuring even better (more linear in the mids and highs) than S700.

I PM'd a couple of head fi members that had experience with the S500s. One response I got was positive. The other negative. So, I'm curious what you come up with.

Alright. First impressions now that I cut the package open. Got Spotify on the iPhone 6+ so using initial impressions with this set up. Got my first song up t-wayne nasty freestyle. Crisp and clear with very solid highs and the bass is exactly what I am looking for. I spent a few hours with my mix master mike cans and there is zero similarities between the two. The highs and clarity with the bass is not in the ballpark. Next song GDFR Flo Rida... Bass heavy and slightly muddy but my eq may be driving plus I have a 5 minutes of break in so not knocking them. Really impressed so far for the price. No clamping and thick foam for the ears. My ears are fairly large and fit fully in the cans not touching the cups. The cord is short and that sits suck... Its also very small good for travel but my mix masters have two chords one for travel and phone while the other is long curly cord which is nice for my amp.

Different genre now... White stripes 7 nation army... Good bass line. Mids slightly recessed, again probably need to play with the spotify eq some. Vocals are clear and crisp. Love this song.
VolBeat heaven or hell is next... Kick drum is awesome and then gets a little muddy, changing eq some And now it's clear. To much 150htz on my eq. This sounds strong now and want to hit the gym. Kick drum is taking it to the house. Sounds awesome.
Trying the dsp live stage feature now on alive in chains unplugged - nutshell... Figured since it's alive recording should be alright... It is OK, sounds a lighter if that makes sense. The bass guitar still hits nicely. Guitars on this song are simply amazing anyway and this brings it to life a little more. I'll likely forgo the use of this deal. This set if cans are still impressive.
Now to my next track... Bob Marley Pimper's Paradise. Bass line is amazing. This track sounds fantastic. Hard to move to another track from this but will throw one more in...
Next the Doors LA Women, Bob Dylan The man in me, and Neil Young Young Man... All remastered. The Doors didn't sound much different than old cans but the other two seemed to be more detailed. I have picked up little nuisances in the song I haven't heard.

I'll post more after a few weeks. Hope this helps anyone looking for these cans. I didn't see much that helped me so I jumped in anyway.

Sorry for any typos as I am using the phone to type up real time.

That's a fav of mine too. These headphones can play any music and won't wimp out. Can't wait to hear more of your impressions.

I'd like more impressions also.  I don't trust Amazon reviews that much.
