hehe well yeah.. i did say it was a check card too (visa). but thats appearntly the standard card bank of america gives when you open an account (i didnt ask for anything special) so it shouldnt be hard to get one if you dont have one... and yeah ive used it at other places besides amazon and it worked.

I have used my debit card at many places such as www.Newegg.com www.boxwave.com and www.amazon.com. Most places that except credit cards will except debit cards as long as they're a major brand. So you aren't just limited to buying from amazon with debit cards.

AKG K26P's are available at $60CAD, i picked a pair up at a local HiFi store here in London, Ontario. Awesome sound, great seal, and cheaper than the ones you've thought of.

i also listen to a lot of hiphop and the bass is just incredible on these.

give them a try out if you can find them in a retail store.
