I have the K81DJ and really like its SQ and soundstage when used with my sound card. However, on my DAP I have to turn the volume up to 75% to get a reasonable level of sound. Is there any real (operating) reason that this is a bad thing? I realize the battery will drain faster, but is it harmful to the DAP in any way to be cranked up so high?

Not a scientist, sorry if this is a noob kinda question. Meanwhile I am sticking with the PX100 for portable use.

If youre concerned youre not getting enough drive, and also about that 75% of the volume control used.....maybe you would do better with a headphone amp? Look in the amp forum and see if maybe something they talk about would interest you. Some also go through the USB and become your soundcard, like a HEADROOM Bithead,or a CORDA Aria, etc.
Either that,or different headphones.
I think if you go that route, youll be just like the rest of us that have holes in our pockets because of Head-Fi.
