I'd like to add that I'm not going to consider the RE0s as they seem to lack the 'funness' in earphones. I hear that the VBs will be too bassy for my tastes, as well. I hated the Klipsch S4 (way too muddy), so I'm curious as to whether there are any other better contenders out there.
Sub 100 is becoming increasingly crowded with good options.
On a sad note, I can no longer find the Eterna v.1 for sale anywhere. It was a finite supply so I guess it was just a matter of time. Hurry up, Genesis.

Just because the RE0 is extremely clean and balanced, does not mean that it isn't fun. It's fun listening to music as purely as possible -- my feet can tap just as much with RE0 as with more "fun" phones like S4, M9, etc. You should consider them to hear the best music under $100.
