Is the "Head-Fi search by Google" search box something that was recently added to the forum?

I popped over to head-fi today and now I have to scroll my browser left and right to see the entire width of the forum. I didn't have to do that yesterday. I'd rather not maximize my browser to fill the entire screen just to satisfy the new head-fi forum layout. What's changed? What I see at the moment is that the Google search box is making things wider than they were before.

Hmmm. Then I wonder what changed in the layout of the site? Something is causing me to have to scroll side to side when I didn't before.

Try logging out, clearing any cookies, and logging back in. Be aware this will set all posts to "read".

No, it has been there for many months.
For all I can remember probably since the major outtake in late 2007.
