Other people who have ripped the same CD have submitted 'maps' of their rips. The software compares your new map to the online posts and looks for changes. Quote:

I don't think that matters too much. The drive is used to read the data by the program. The program is what fixes any errors. Quote:

I do not use EAC as J.River's implementation of secure rip rivals EAC.
I do always use Secure Rip
1- I have never had a bad rip using this setup
2- I am not in a hurry so the time factor is not critical to me
3- Peace-of-mind is.
