I had just ordered a set of 225's and found out they were out of stock,but offered me the 325's for an extra $65 bucks($210 total).Sounds like a great deal to me.I am using a Creek obh-11 amp,mainly listen to soft rock.

The 225 for me represent the top of the line in the entry level Grado sound (SR40,60,80,125,225).

The 325 sound a whole lot like the RS-2, I found very little if any difference between them, other than the way they look.

The RS-1 on the other hand are in a class of their own, well besides the MSP

The 325 are great headphones, I like the Music Series 2 (pro version) version of them better however, since they sound cleaner to me. They both retail for the same price.

Make sure you have a good headphone amp for them if you want them to sound their best. The best amps I heard them paired with were the Grado RA-1, Headroom MAXED OUT Home, and the Headroom MAX.

I guess you are referring to the fact that the 225's are known to be great rock headphones,but are they a better rock headphone than the 325's?

Go for the 325's. They're more robust and detailed, and a better rocker despite what Headroom implies.

The 325 are a bit more detailed, have a louder treble range and a louder bass, but they're also clearly more colored than the 225. An ugly 2.2 kHz hump prevents the highs from sounding smooth and liquid – although they're bright, I got the impression that there's some brilliance missing.

I like the SR-225 a bit better. They're more natural and neutral. And they too have a great bass.

I have heard both phones. I ended up gettiing the 225s. Either way, they both sound great in thier own way. You can't go wrong.

Have owned both SR225 & SR325 with RA1 amp. Liked the 225's more than the 325's, then heard the HD600's with the RA1 and found this to be a superb combo.

The HD600 Sennheiser/ Grado RA1 combo has been with me now for 8 months and I still feel the same.

Right before I bought my 325, I was lucky enough to audition the whole Grado line. Right up to the RS-1.

To be it was a tossup between the 225 and 325. Both sounded equally spectacular, and sonically stunning.

I brought along a friend, and we both definitely found the 325 to be a bit more 'crisp' in the high end, and bass was equally sharp on both 'phones.

I was a bit turned off by the craftsmanship of the 225 though. The vinyl band at the top looked ridiculously flimsy and the whole package just wasn't what I expected a $200 headphone should be.

on the other hand, I found the real stitched leather jacket smell of the 325 band to be quite nice..

If the price difference was say ~$200 USD, I probably wonldn't have gone for the 325.
