Is it possible to hook up a Fiio E11 to a Galaxy S3 via line-out?

I've been using an ipod touch 4g as my DAP for a while, but I've gotten tired of having to choose between quality or quantity of songs.  Decided that I'll just get a 64GB micro SD card and use my S3 since I have an extended battery.  However, I'll be running a modified pair of T50RPs so I'll need to use my E11 to power them properly.

I'm not quite sure how I would go about getting them connected through line-out, though.  With the ipod it was simple since I could just use one of Fiio's ipod line-out cables, but I've been looking around and there doesn't seem to be something comparable for the S3.  Am I just going to have to use 3.5mm to 3.5mm and if so, should I just turn the S3's volume as low as possible?

S3 doesn't have line-out. You will be double amping if you are going to connect E11 to S3 headphone-out. It is however possible to use a USB DAC with S3 (depends on which version of S3 and what version of Android it has) to get a line-out signal. You will need to do more research on your own as I don't own a S3 myself to tell you any detail about it.

Anyway, if you want to double amp, always try to keep the volume high on the source, but not high enough for audible distortion. Generally speaking, 80~90% tends to be fine on most source.

BTW, as ClieOS said, the best way maybe use S3 as transport and use a portable DAC/AMP which support digital out of S3/S4/Note2, we will release KUNLUN ( portable DAC/AMP for Android Phone )

Thanks for the responses.  Clie, I guess line-out isn't the right term, but I was talking about the S3 being able to output music from the micro USB port (is that called digital-out?).  Seems that I would indeed have to get a USB DAC/AMP, which is kind of a shame since I already have E11.

I have the Verizon model of the S3, the SCH-I535, and I'm running Android 4.1.  Besides the E18 are there any others that would be recommended?

Does the FiiO E18 Kunlun support AOA 2.0 like the Grom Audio USB2P?

In other words, is the FiiO E18 Kunlun a USB host when connecting to an Android phone?

Get a FiiO E07K and call it a day. I use that with my S3 and it works great!
