Is it better to turn off amps every time after use or leaving it always on?

I find it funny that so far electrical consumption hasn't come up.  Electricity ain't free, and the byproducts of its generation aren't all that desirable, either.

The Meridian recommend turning off (not in sleep mode) when not listenning for a long time like many days. I see people taking positions while there may be not.

I have extensively researched the topic today. The most experienced opinions say yes, it's better to leave the amp on all the time.
The wear from inrush current when turning it on once per day outweighs the wear from leaving the amp on continuously. This is valid for Solid-State amps only.

The exceptions from this rule are:
(a) amp has overheating issues
(b) it's a class A amp that consumes a lot of power
(c) you experience frequent power spikes and outages.
