I just bought myself a Jensen WBT310, which is a basic home theatre bluetooth audio receiver, for $15. I had read that A2DP was enough of an improvement over basic bluetooth audio to be good enough for music, but it seems like that's incorrect. When streaming from my MacBook (running Leopard, so it's A2DP compatible) to my receiver and through speakers, I can hear treble compression, and it's not unbearable, but it's bad. On headphones, though, I can't take it. Everything over 5kHz seems to be over-compressed, and cymbal sounds make me want to die.

Is this to be expected of A2DP, and I should return the receiver, or is there something I can do to improve this?

Well, it's been a year and a half and I just heard a GizWiz review of the Motorola HD820 and Leo really liked the sound. Has anyone heard these?
