Having heard both I can honestly say to look for the original SR71. IMO it sounds better by offering a combination of more detail, separation, clarity, and extension. The original SR71 is larger and does not have a built in charger nor a gain switch. If these two options are important to you then you may wish to check out the P51 also by Ray.
If when listening to Jazz you like small ensembles there is a third candidate, the TTVJ Millet Portable amp. Good luck.
