[Abstraction]

I am using Westone 3s out of an Ipod classic. This is an amazing 6.5 ounces of muic. How much can I improve it with a high-end portable amp?

I use them with an iPhone 3GS. I also run them from my desktop Dynalo on occassion. I have also tried them from a Pico Slim. I have used other IEM's with a Pico Dac/amp. I do prefer the Westone 3 and other IEM's amped. The full spectrum is better controlled, and the bass especially is better controlled. More important to me, is that line out into an amp generally provides a much greater volume adjustability. I genrerally can't listen to the Westone 3's at more than one or two clicks on the volume setting on the iPhone, unless I use the vlolume attenuator that came with them. The Pico Slim is one heck of an amp, by the way.
