Hello
I wanted to purchase either the clas or the fostex dac/amp, but considering the price I'm still hesitant.
My question is: will the iPod work with dacs such as the pico dac, or an ibasso or any other good portable USB device?
Thanks in advance.

No, DACs usually need a USB, optical or coaxial port to connect, which the iPod does not have.
Not easy or cheap to hook an external DAC to apple portable devices
Cheapest DAC that works with the apple's LOD port is $150 made by HRT, and not really a "portable" device.

And wouldn't it work even with the photo kit ? I heard some were using this port to get the digital flux out of the iPod... I was wondering if this option might work with a classic...?

To the best of my knowledge, the Photo kit only allows you to get digital music out of an iPad, not an iPod or iPhone.

I believe that is because the iPad can connect to USB?

The Pico USB DAC works with the iPad and the CCK.
