Gonna get one soon = ), problem is that i only have mini to mini connectors for my amp, would it be a good idea to buy an LOD dock that will fit a mini to mini? Or just use the mini to mini straight from the connector?

Depends on your budget, and the quality you want. You could just buy a LOD with a female port, for around $15-20, or you can spend $10-$___ more for a high quality cable attached to it. Decide with your budget and the sound quality you want in mind.

Edit: Just to let you know, since you have the iPhone 3G, make sure any LOD you buy is compatible with the 3G.

I personally don't know where you can get them in Australia, but I'm sure if you search around Ebay, there are tons of Chinese sellers that will ship to Australia. This person ships worldwide, and I've heard of a few people on Headfi buying from this seller.

Edit: Never mind, changed the above link. This one that he sells supports iPhone 3G.

How does the minijack output compare to the proprietary docking connector?
