Sounds good! I made another thread about mojo-ipad when i got the mojo. And I couldn't tell ipad and mojo apart. Sure the Hugo should make a noticeable difference at that price point.

Eh? Listening to music on an iPad is the definition of inconvenient. Bulky, delicate, and awkward.
Depends on how you listen. Sure not the best option if you're out walking :)

Or cooking. Or waiting. Or at the record store. Or jumping around the room like a loon, rocking out. I'm trying to come up with times an iPad wouldn't be inconvenient. Other than using the internet while listening to a streaming service. ?

The iPad Pro is not that amazing. My latest 6-core 15” 2018 Macbook Pro sounds significantly better than the 12.9 iPad Pro (2017). The iPad Pro sounds congested and soft / blurry next to it.

That is interesting point. I wonder if there is a comparison on best sounding laptops for headphone output.

The CEO of HIFIMAN a few years ago stated that the Apple iPhone 6plus has a better DAC thab most 600dollar DAP’s. At a Rocky Mountain Headphones event. He said this openly infront of Tyll, Jude and Audeze CEO.
NO ONE CHALLENGED HIM ON THIS POINT.

Forward this video to 57minutes. Dr Fang explains iPhone 6 sounds better than a DAP which costs the same as the iPhone 6.

Can anyone confirm if the regular Ipad 2018 has the same dac, or sounds about the same as the 2017 pro?

I'm so impressed with the 2018 iPad's sound with my dt1770 pro that I'd probably stick to the ipad for portable audio, then desktop for serious listening.

Based on my experience, I found DAP's incredibly overpriced. But DAP's are lucky that Apple decided to kill the headphone output with the iPhone X.

I never tested the Samsung Galaxy S10+ in the sound quality department. Would be interesting to see if Samsung can take over the DAP market with their latest smartphone.

iPad Pro 2018 (one with the phone jack) is absolutely good enough for portable, bedside use. This is from someone with Hugo and Linn Klimax.

But the 2018 Pro doesn’t have a headphone jack. Maybe you were referring to the 2017 Pro?

Okay, maybe you are right. I bought mine in 2018 so assumed it was the 2018 version :)

Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts, I’m getting more convinced to just stay with the Ipad as a portable source.
