I'm looking to get a nice portable amp and/or dac for listening to classical lossless files on the iPad, iPhone, Macbook, etc.
I'm leaning toward the Meier Stepdance as the headphone amp and uDAC or uDAC2 for the dac.
Can anyone tell me if the uDAC is going to make a huge difference for the iPad? Is it worth getting the older uDAC instead of the newer uDAC2 just for the iPad compatibility? Should I just go for the uDAC2 for the macbook and Stepdance only for iPad and iPhone listening?
Is there something like the uDAC out there with optical input?
