How can a 16 bit 44.1 khz cd output DSD 2.8224MHz–22.5792MHz
This is reference to the player’s DAC input function. Part of the appeal of this piece is that it only play CDs, but can be used as a DAC in the system.

Just ordered one via the A in case of return.
Will report on how well this device works.

New Post due to double post silly rules!

It arrived today!
All is well except for one of the buttons that is used for going to the next track sticks.
Seems the tolerance on this push button assembly needs a little more love.

I sent the vendor a note via email at Amazon.
Waiting for a reply.
I can fix this myself easily but want the vendor to know and resolve.

Its working with i2s interface well.
The plexi-glass cover is sweet. The display is simple and nice as well.

Love the retro look.
The unit is solid and has nice silicon rubberized feet.
Running from a Holo Cyan 2 dac via the i2s interface.
Had a 2ft i2s cable made from Blue Jeans cable with their good FE cable with HDMI connectors
Very nice high quality cable.

Stay tuned on the "stuck" button
Alex

What's the latest on the button (and did you fix it)? Thx
The seller on A would exchange for a new unit.
I didnt want to deal with that.
So I took the unit apart and realigned the switch assembly and de-oxit the switches,
Working fine now.
IMO a quality control issue...could be a drop in shipping jarred the assembly.

Have you tried it with AES to your G2 yet? Curious how well it pairs with it via that connection.

Im waiting the arrive of this unit, my old SACD Mcintosh 305 just died after several repairs. Have a doubt: the USB input appears to be only for power purpose, the rear photo of the unit is clear about it, but even the SMSL brochure told it can be used as a dac.
Anyone has used other power input than the AC?
With this transport i will use a Topping P50 lineal suply via USB after of course proof and compare it with the regular AC option. It will conected via I2S to a SMSL dac D400EX as the first choice by now.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

The USB can be used just for power or for the transport to be used as a DDC (you still need a DAC!). That is how I use it for the most part. I use the IEC connector for power.
