Introducing the Questyle M15 & the brand new Questyle Shop!

I typically listen to Apple Music (lossless 24-bit 44.1kHz ALAC), as well as Spotify, without any issues. Also the occasional YouTube video, also no problems there. Does the dipping in and out on your setup also happen when you're using services such as YouTube or other playback software?

Also, if possible, could you take a video of the issue and send it to my email? zach.bielak@questyle.com
A video would be very helpful in figuring out precisely what your issue and diagnosing where it's coming from.

Zach
Let me try streaming and see what happens. I'm wondering if it's a decoding or buffering issue.

[EDIT: Trying this Soundcloud stream and I'm getting the same thing. I observe when the music is playing, the M15's green light is steady. It blinks when the music dips out.]

[EDIT 2: I now notice when no music is playing, the green light momentarily blinks on its own at random intervals too. Wonder if it's connected to the playback issue?]

Hmmm a video of the music playback—what would you need to see in the video to best troubleshoot? Just the audio playback or?

Really appreciate your assistance.

@vurtomatic How about this — if possible, can you hook up the M15 to a small speaker that has RCA or 3.5mm inputs? If not, perhaps just attach some headphones and crank the volume a bit so that your smartphone microphone can pick up some of it. By video, I mean just a short clip of the "dipping" issue, doing your best to capture both the M15's lights, the computer screen, and also a bit of the audio as heard from your cranked headphones or a small speaker. Any clip that would help us see precisely what you mean by "dipping" is helpful, in lieu of sending it back and having the engineers test it in person.

Based on that video the engineers will take a look, and if we think that it's a lemon unit we'll replace it for you. DM or email me (zach.bielak@questyle.com) if you will with information about where you purchased it, when you purchased it, and if there are any other issues you've encountered with it. Has this problem appeared when attached to any other devices, smartphones, laptops, tablets etc?

Testing with my Pixel 7 Pro on Android:
Green light only lights up when music is playing. Playback is normal and the green light is steady.

Tested with a personal M1 Pro MacBook Pro on MacOS Monterey v12.6.5:
Green light only lights up when music is playing. Playback is normal and the green light is steady.

Tested with work M1 Pro MacBook Pro on MacOS Ventura v13.3.1:
Green light lights up and stays on once it's plugged into the laptop, even without music playing. Playback skips and the green light blinks.
When there's no music playing, the green light ALSO blinks randomly on its own.

I can't tell if it's hardware specific or software because it looks random. I'll email you a link to my video on Google Photos.

Thanks again!

Hey guys, if anybody is going to Munich and really wants to meet with my two colleagues from Questyle, send me your email and WhatsApp number, either here or in a PM, and I'll forward that info to Jim and Aimee so they can reach out to you in Munich.

@vurtomatic I'll check the videos and chat with the engineers and get back to you.

@Questyle
I was considering buying the M15, but I have a doubt ... the notebook I use for music (Amazon HD and Foobar2000) is equipped with Windows 8.1 and I wanted to know whether or not it was compatible with the M15 because it seems to me I've read that it works only from Windows 10. As for the foobar I've read that it's not compatible with ASIO drivers, so should I use WASAPI or is the M15 not really compatible with Foobar2000? Thank you.

Sorry, has anyone managed to get the M15 to work with older versions of Windows 10? Thank you.

Maybe I didn't explain myself well, I have Windows 8.1 on my pc and I don't know if it's ok... thanks.
I would assume so but have never tried. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I confirm that the M15 does not work in versions older than Windows 10, the dac is recognized but cannot be installed due to lack of drivers. I don't think it would be as difficult to create a driver for older versions of Windows and add it to the downloadable files from the site, as for all other dongles out there. I hope Questyle can make a driver to allow many customers, like me, who use an old laptop for purely music purposes. Thank you.
