Introducing the Questyle M15 & the brand new Questyle Shop!

@productred Well, without giving away too much (we like all of our products to be surprises), the next product will be in a slightly different vein than the M15, certainly not a simple revamp/upgrade of our flagship. So don't worry there.

As for the rest of you — don't ask too many questions about our upcoming products.... as much as I would love to answer, I'm sworn to secrecy! 😉 As soon as I have concrete and declassified information to share with you all, I'll do it at the soonest opportunity!

(For the record, the reason we are so secretive about our products is that we don't want to get our customers' hopes up about the specifics or functions of a new product, only to not be able to deliver precisely that, whether due to regulatory requirements, design impossibilities, or otherwise. We only publish information about our upcoming products once we are 100% certain that they will hit the market as described.)

@NymPHONOmaniac Yum yummmm, I can taste it from here!
😍

@Luke Skywalker I'll chat with your via PM and see what we can do. Our greatest apologies that the M15 hasn't lived up to your standards or ours.

Thank you I got your pm. I’m not having issues with the new paw or my other dongles. The frustrating part is the Q15 is superior aside from the static. When that issue is not occurring, it blows away anything I have except my SP 3000.

I disagree dummy. This is the M15 thread, not related to their DAPs. I have several IEMs superior to Odin and I want to warn others not to buy the piece of junk M15. The Paw works perfectly as does all my other gear.

Read the title of the thread before you annoy everyone else again

I will ignore any responses you make to keep the thread clean
You maybe misunderstood something here honey. I also don't understand the DAP related thing or you didn't get the point in context, wrong quote maybe?

To keep the thread clean, you shouldn't post such toxic offensive comments. Feel free to send a PM.

Finally gave up on this piece of junk and ordered the Paw S2. Can’t stand the constant static
In my experience, any dongle (m15, paw1, paw2, w2, etc) with 4.4 tends to be reactive to static, call it the topology or the increment in sensitivity due to the power, all suffer from static, i even covered the paw1 in faraday tape and it sort of helped but don’t think it was a massive change.

Calling something junk in public wont change our perspective from it, more since it works wonders. Although it talks a lot about your way to deal with frustration

M15 Noob here.

Just got mine and updated to the latest firmware.

I'm using it with my Microsoft Surface pro 6 on Windows 11, streaming through Qobuz using Wasapi Exclusive.

I have my laptop volume down to 0 and the Qobuz volume control down to 1% or 2%. The volume gets VERY loud VERY quickly. I'm using them with Etymotic ER4XR which are by no means too sensitive (98db, 45 ohm impedance).

Can anyone share any tips on how get the the M15 to work with more "normal" volume control functionality?

Thanks in advance.

So, I've recently discovered an incompatibility between my MDR-Z7s and my Questyle M15 dongle DAC. Strangely, I get distortion when listening through the 4.4mm balanced output, but no problems through the single-ended 3.5mm. I've even tried multiple different 4.4mm balanced cables. I even got a replacement M15 and still distortion listening through the balanced output. Could it be some kind of impedance mismatch? Supposedly, the m15 can drive 600 ohm Beyers and 300 ohm Sennheisers. Surely, the z7s can't be too power hungry. Also, 4.4mm balanced output with my Meze Rai Penta IEMs is just fine. Btw, the z7s are 70 ohm impedance. Any thoughts?

You've likely already done this but just in case, you've got the gain switch on the side of the unit set to "low" yes? LED should show green rather than red.

You might want to invest in some good audiophile music software such as Audirvana. I have it and it has a very nice volume control with very small (1db) steps of attenuation.

Thanks. I do plan to get on to Roon at some point.

I'm just surprised I'm having this volume issue using the M15 with Qobuz on Windows. If I'm the only person, then likelihood is I'm missing something and wondering what that could be. But if there's a known fix for this would be great to find out.

Now I'm actually confused....

The Questyle website has 2 different sections with firmware for the M15:

This one:

https://www.questyle.com/language/en/downloads-en/

And

https://www.questyle.com/language/en/dowmloads/

Anyone know which is the latest firmware to use?

Currently I'm using Version 9399 which is the latest version shown on the second link.

Is that the latest?
Actual firmware is *.rom Version 9399, the other link seems to be only the upgrade tool.exe itself, which is named version 0.427 with a size of 340 KB. But this is included. Firmware-Rom's for EPROM-IC are all about 21 KB.

So, a bit irritating but all good. 🙃✌🏻

My M15 is not working from the pixel 7.

I usually use UAPP, but also Tidal app doesn't work.

When I plug it in and plug in my IEMs in UAPP I get: usb audio device initialized, then when I try to play something I get Error Starting Playback.
