It took me a few tries, but the process successfully worked after a couple of soft resets (I'm an Apple person, apologies). I was able to get Tidal to work without GPS from the start, but the M6P froze up once. I finally had time to do the Play Store update. Success, and now Tidal runs smoothly. What a player this is! I have owned all Shanling players since the M5 (still have that wonderful grandfather unit), and this is a superb unit. Expect a review in about 2-3 weeks, as my queue is full.

*I purchased this unit myself from Musicteck at a discount for a review in return.

The good thing (other than a packed queue of course) is that the M6P will happily be used with the others, so kind of a 2-for-1. I plan on comparing to the Cayin N6ii as well. Have not heard that mentioned a lot of late, but that is a stellar unit, especially with the changeable motherboards.

Kept trying the above method for installing google play store on my m6 pro but each time hung on installation with green robot showing error then after long while rebooted to main screen without google play store installed

First of all You have to unzip downloaded file to get this one - GMS Patch - DO NOT OPEN, ONLY COPY.zip.

Other thing is it doesn't work when I downloaded it from a link through web browser on a dap. I had to download it on my PC, uzip and copy the file I mentioned.

Good point. When download onto the SD card via computer, then worked from the DAP with card installed, it worked.

Confirm. Also volume adjustment doesn't work in usb dac mode when screen is off.

Is this an erratic/random wheel response? Mechanical issue cause, as on the M3s?

Some of you have noticed problems with the battery. My m6 pro sometimes jumps from 100% to 98%. Is very annoying.

Can be caused by by inaccuracy in the wheel's potentiometer.

Thanks for your reply. I'll contact the seller for replacement.

As for the usb dac mode volume control, I've aslo confirmed the problem. When M6 Pro itself is used as usb dac with screen off, the wheel never work.
It seems to be a firmware issue.

Latest FW and latest player. What do you mean by which DAC? I was trying balanced output.
