Hi @Shanling
Is there a software switch for SE and balanced mode? The audio setting menu still shows single-end even I plugged in a 2.5mm balanced cable.
When you connect via 2.5 or 4.4 it automatically plays balanced. SE option only pertains to 3.5 connection, in which case, drop down menu allows toggle between single or dual dac

Switch from SE to Balanced is done automatically once you insert headphones into balanced connector.

Single-End setting in Audio setting is for single / Dual DAC switch, it doesn't mean you are connected SE or balanced.

Single/Double DAC mode affects on SE output. In balanced mode both DACs are enabled automatically at all times.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Is it normal that it takes a long time before you can play a song when opening a large playlist in the qobuz app with locally cached files?

New firmware update available for Shanling M6 Pro Android player.

Firmware is ready for OTA update, but download speeds might be quite low, due to high demand.

Full updated notes and download links for manual update: https://en.shanling.com/article-MarchUpdateAndro.html
Thanks for the update. Sucks about the AKM factory. Makes me happy I have the original M6 Pro in my hands.
I see via the firmware update we can now store EQ settings with the Shanling music player - very good. Is there any potential later updates that will make the player not lose power when the equalizer is in use? I really enjoy this dap, but this problem is rather annoying. Not to mention quite strange.

EQ works as it was intended. It adjust gain to make the EQ changes work better.
If you are big EQ user, iw ould recommend to get some different software player with better build in EQ system.

So as the Shanling rep, your recommendation is to buy another companies product 🤷‍♂️. EQ affecting power is not standard. This is the only audio device I've owned that does this. And if Shanling decided to make it this way, oversight or not, it should be listed somewhere for potential buyers to read. I've tried 4 different music apps, and they all behave the same way. Many, many people use EQ.

EQ affecting output volume is only taking affect when using EQ build into the Shanling Music app.
You can use EQ build into different apps (HiBY app for example) with no impact on output volume.

As a Shanling representative, I have no problem recommending you to install alternative apps on your M6 Pro, if you don't like how it's set up in our Shanling Music app. That's the freedom of Android system.

That's what I'm trying to tell you. I've used UAPP, Neutron, and Poweramp. All of them greatly lower the power output when EQ is used. Are you aware of any other music apps that won't do this?

Testing Neutron, seeing no difference in volume between EQ on or OFF.
For Poweramp, it seems to have overall lower volume, but that might be just hidden in one of its many settings.
Edit: In Poweramp the Direct Volume Control is messing up with the volume. Also, no volume changes with EQ on/off.
