first version of that was in the early 2000s. This is their updated version. Metronome is the company, Kalista is the model and DreamPlay is like their "mk2" or whatever.Sorry, Kalitta vendor....Not Metronome....
Well 43k usd though.....but still.....

Trowing poop and watch it where it sticks.
Yeah, but does it play gapless recordings?
No
Best of luck to Shanling but the super high end isn't a space worth exploring in Chi-Fi.
Shanling has been making similar super High-end devices for over 20 years, it worked so far.
Look at the responses in two pages of a brand new product. Is anyone here remotely interested in this product at its price point. I can't find one positive comment.
We posted on Head-Fi as we are quite active here, but we do not think this would be the core audience for models such as T35.
Shanling has never produced a product even remotely close to this price point whereas the list of ultra high end CD player manufactures that are in high end stores have. Would you or any other buyer trust a manufacturer with $19,000 USD on a first of its kind for its brand name type of product? I highly doubt it.
Shanling has been producing similar devices for over 20 years, some directly under Shanling brand, some under brands owned by Shanling, and more for OEM. Our management is confident in the sound of CD-T35 and the first demos at shows and dealers in China seem to confirm this.
Original Shanling T300 was released in 2004. Not sure when Metronome released their version or how was this considered at the time. Nevertheless, it's 20 year old problem. You already know the answerMetronome had that model back in the early 2000s.

In any case I think it will be rough selling 99 units without a deep discount.
Will I see one at the upcoming Axpona?

With all due respect you've made zero products at this price point and none in the super high end space. Your product line is entirely focused on headphone source gear and your list of international dealers proves that point. For 20 years you've been making products with DAPs taking up the majority of your market share for the last 10 years. I wish you the best of luck but if you don't think HeadFi is the target market for a $19,000 product I have no idea why you would post it here for people to bash it for three pages.

Our international market presence is quite different from the Chinese side, where the 2-channel amplifiers and CD players were a staple part of the Shanling's portfolio. I understand that looking at it simply from the Canadian side, this might come out of nowhere and not match the past few years of products. So we are just providing some context as there is more to Shanling and our other brands than just what you see on the international market.
While CD-T35 is the most expensive model with Shanling name on it, it's not the most expensive model we sell nowadays.
And we shared the news as CD-T35 is an interesting model, it's available with headphone amplifer and officially released for international market. It was shared on all our outlets and also by Hi-Fi media. It's up to the users of the various how will they react.

Best of luck. I'd be very interested to see how the market reacts at CanJam Shanghai and Munich High End.Our international market presence is quite different from the Chinese side, where the 2-channel amplifiers and CD players were a staple part of the Shanling's portfolio.
