Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

What do you need to EQ? Is it that typical Hifiman and is too bright?

Maybe too bright and some uncontroled bass, I preffer more neutral sound and I want to compare the default EQ vs Oratory EQ.

I have this EQ for my 560s and Sundara and they had been improved a lot their sound, specially in Sundara.

Guys, which headphones provide greater listening pleasure, Ananda Nano or Edition XS? If someone has compared the two models, please share with us.
I know I'm two months late to the party, but I just got the Nano a few days ago and I have to say besides the much better efficiency and super punchy/sharp attack of the nano drivers, I was quite disappointed with the sound signature in comparison to my Edition XS. Maybe it's just my ears, but the Nano is "too hyped" for my tastes with a U shaped signature that sounds artificial to me — essentially bloated mid bass & mid treble that is out of proportion with everything else to the point where music doesn't sound natural anymore. Also, I found the clamp pressure to be WAY too strong for me to the point where I couldn't stand having it on my head after a few minutes. I put back on my XS and was astonished how much more comfortable it was (both the XS headband style AND the significantly lighter clamp force) as well as how much more realistic everything sounded (albeit also quite a bit softer). Switching to Dekoni Fenestrated Sheepskin pads was a MASSIVE improvement in both comfort and sound, significantly reducing the feeling of my head being squeezed as well as evening out the frequency response to a more linear presentation. Still even with the Dekoni pads, I can't help but wonder if I should have gotten the 2022 Stealth version instead which seems to be exactly what I'm wanting, linear bass with a "bright neutral tuning". Has anyone tried both that could help me decide if I should exchange my Nano for the Stealth?

Did you tried any EQ for Nano? And, did you burned it around 100h?

My first time with Nano I had the same sensation like you, but after EQed and burned it I'm in love with this headphones.

I haven't yet as I actually don't have a way to globally EQ all the input sources that I plug my headphones into (protools, logic, itunes, spotify, youtube all running out of my volt 476 on my mac mini, my macbook M1 pro, my iphone, etc…) and would prefer to just find the headphone that natively has the sound closest to what I'm looking for (so far it's still the XS), but I'm open to trying it if that's the only way! What software or hardware do you use for EQing your Nano?

I have only burned it in perhaps 10-12 hours or so…does the sound really change that much after 100h, and if so, how so?

I used APO Peace to EQ the Nano and I burned it around 60-70 h and, for me, there is a huge sound improvement.

I have the Stealth and got it at the same time as the Edition XS and much preferred the Ananda Stealth to the XS, in comparison the XS sounded very dry, technical and unmusical compared to the much more musical presentation of the Stealth. Haven't tried the Nano because I am so happy with the Ananda Stealth that I see no reason to try another Ananda. I am hoping to get the Arya Organic or Stealth to see if they are worth the upgrade someday but for now I love the way the Ananda Stealth sounds and your description of its sound signature is spot on.

I just got the arya stealth about 2 weeks ago & really enjoy it i also brought the ananda stealth a few months ago which is also great.
The arya stealth is more in your face than the ananda stealth & larger hight & depth in the sound stage with the ananda having a slightly wider stage.

Which version of the stealth do you have? v2 440g 27ohms or the v3 400g 16 ohms? I wasn't aware there were two versions and just got the v3 to compare to my XS and am quite disappointed, it sounds muffled compared the XS which surprisingly sounds clearer and more "alive". I'm wondering if perhaps v2 is the one I was looking for? Feel frustrated to keep getting the "wrong" version of the ananda I swear this is like my 5th headphone return so far!

How your realations with ananda nano has ended. Did they improve compared? Later i could say my opinion about them as i listened and compared to my xs quite closely.

like others have mentioned, I was surprised to find out that the sound of the nano DID change quite significantly with break in! At first the nano was quite unmusical and only listenable with the dekoni elite fenestrated pads, however as of yesterday, I was surprised for the 1st time to find I liked the sound better with the stock pads! Also, for the past two weeks I have been running the Nano through this awesome inline preamp with a 3 band EQ:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TYYMHQS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

which I would highly recommend to anyone not wanting or feeling the need to take the dive into a full size amp as it really helps to get the sound dialed in closer to the way you want it to be as well as offering a moderate gain boost! I now have the dekoni fenestrated pads on my ananda stealth, which I was almost going to return until I tried it with these pads, and now I'm not sure which one I like better, the stealth with the fenestrated or the Edition XS!
