This one doesn't sound like the usual SMSL and Topping products. It reminds more of the Rose Technics RT-5000 but I find it quite better sounding.

This new ESS is quite different from the previous generation. Less bright and more natural sound when implemented correctly.

Is there any other DAC house sound the new gen. ESS is similar to ?
I always guessed ESS would maybe move closer to Chord sound.

No, Moondrop claims to have no relationship with this product. They just borrow something to Shenzhenaudio (Leiyin) and SMSL.
