I recently got a linksys router and a wi-fi a.p. up and running at my house, so i can get wi-fi on my sharp zaurus....i've been having trouble online at some sites, though....my sister can't go to hotmail....(the site doesn't load)...windows update doesn't load (stays at 0% when checking for updates)....and when i try and register for the free m.s. stuff, i get stuck at the select you country part (it just never loads).....any ideas?

You are running into the fact that the IE for WinCE does not have the ability to ActiveX and cookie like the full-sized IE6 that most websites were designer for.

EDIT: I need to learn to read better. Sorry.

My fault, I thought on the quick read-through that the Sharp was PDA running PPC 2002/3. Which particular Linksys router model did you get? Is the AP incorporated into the router or did you go with separate router and AP? I have the SpeedBooster Linksys router/AP and had no problems with simple web browsing when I got it up and running -- I did have some DMZ and VoIP issues that eventually made me switch to Buffalo products, but that is a whole 'nother story.

I also noticed that all of the issues you mentioned here were related to MS sites or sites from MS divisions. Could your IP have been black-listed by MS for some unrelated reason? My IP was blocked by a few sites after someone had spoofed the IP...

Did you get them both at the same time?
Does the problem happen when you try to surf directly from the router?
(no wifi, hard cable only)

Did you double check your router's settings?
(do you know how to get to the router's settings?)

Too many variables right now.
It is not possible to give a one word answer without more info.

Next step is to try it with a naked connection. (no router or firewall)
If it still hangs, then you have eliminated the router and can now blame IE.

yeah, it seems to work ok just going from the dsl box to my computer, with the router out of the loop....don't know why the router makes it not work.....any settings i should change?

Did this setup ever worked?
If not, it might be a firmware issue or bug?
Have you checked the linksys site for the latest firmware?
