My complete setup with P6pro & Madoo typ821 (tweaked). The best sound in IEM I've ever heard.

I wanted to ask everyone if you shared my impression that the difference between high-gain and low-gain on the P6ProTi99 is surprisingly small?
I'm currently listening to the STORM on the P6ProTi99 and achieve a good volume level at 16 with low gain. In high gain mode the volume setting is 14.
I remember that while streaming via BT or USB cable the difference is significantly larger. What are your impressions of high gain and low gain?

Except for the volume level difference the gain level has no bearing on sound quality for me. P6 is notorious for sound control where you cannot bring down the volume really low for like 'bed-time' listening. For this reason, I use low-gain to bring down the volume but that's about it. Like you've stated there is a difference but not too much. I also have the volume attenuator adapter made by PW Audio through Musicteck to make the volume really low because even at volume level 2 it is too loud for me at night.

What IEM/ headphones are using with it, mostly?

I sold all of my IEMs except Aroma Jewel. Between Ti99 and Jewel I don't think I need anything else.
I still have few headphone like Denon D9200, HD800s, Utopia but I don't even bother use these HPs on portable Daps while I can get much better sound on Denafrips Terminators II.

The PWAudio volume attenuator adapter is something I have often thought about and what I plan to do now, because of what you've explained.

Here's what the adapter looks like. It has two inverted dials to control the output level. I don't use it as much as I used to with pro.
I don't how but this tends to make the sound a bit more holographic.

Hmm... apologies if I had not posted it, but the E7 I understand from Wan has gone into production. So, we are looking at Q1 2024. :)
