Yeah, Das Racist is hip-hop and I like it a lot, but....

I hate hip-hop, so...this recommendation could be good or bad depending on what you think about contemporary examples of the genre.  The only other hip-hop I like is busdriver and The Grouch (along with EDit and the rest of the Glitch Mob).

Those are some great picks, ngower.

Also, shalinggang, you mentioned you like Interpol, so I'd suggest you stay away from their self-titled released this year. It was very disappointing.

If it hasn't been mentioned, you may like The Velvet Underground.

And, really, I do not get what people see in Sleigh Bells. To me, it sounds like a recording of power tools.

An oft-unrecognized band in the "Pavement era" is Camper van Beethoven. I'll always associate this song with driving hungover with my friends back from the craziest New Year's party.

Such a fun band.

Although Interpol 2010 album is not as genius as their previous ones, I still think it is a very good album at least above average.
