The specs for the AWKT look pretty much identical to the W5000, except for slightly higher impedance... I’d bet that it’s a slightly modified driver. Though we don’t know what the tuning for these will be. Hopefully A-T accounted for the criticism the W5000 received, seeing as these will be received as the W5000’s successor. IMHO, of course.

The wood grain looks much more exciting, though, IMO. Except for W3000ANV, those were stellar. :)

I hated the headband system of the old ones so this one intrigues me a bit. I'll probably wait until some of them pop up used.

No hate but....

The new headband system is absolutely horrible. After the honeymoon stage you will develop dented hot spots on your head. I need to wrap a towel around the headband. Very sad.

The new cables are one of the worst microphonic cables in town. Touching it and rubbing it while listening to music will echo down the line.

The earpads are all the same. On ear and tight against the head. Drivers touch ear and headphone rattles.

Sound is refine. Best way to describe it is a LCD 2 original non fazor to LCD 2 fazor. These technicas are fazor sounding.

Good luck. Sorry about the truth.

Yes, the P-750u, I believe. I've always wanted to try one of the Luxman amps but they're already expensive amps made doubly so by import-distributor markups. Very classy, though.
