The Bass Cannon is in.

Out of the box impressions, bass isn't as etxreme as I thought it would be, even after the impressions mentioning it's balance. No serious thump to it, but this is with stock everything, no changes, running through an android phone no DAC. and no burn in.

Those mids though. My god, they tickle my brain. Love Dynamic Driver mids.

And it's just fantastic. Can't wait for all the improvements to come with rolling tips, burn in, maybe a DAC.

Also very glad it can get so loud off a mobile phone which is where I listen to my music. The Tri i3 Pro and Timeless all lacked power in that department. Kublai Khan doesn't have a problem with it. Quite pleased with these so far.

I finally decided to part with the Dark Matter...hopefully it went to one of you folks. That fit just never could land where I needed it to be. Rolled the dice on a lesser known set and have been blown away so far! Maybe one of these days I'll jump back into the IMR pool!

For my genres it is perfect.

I have started evaluating today, a few hours back. On both I am using the stock cables and tips. Black/Black filters on both.
Rah 2023 burn in time = 800+ hours
Elan+ burn in time = 420 hours
I am using my laptop and my Mojo 2.

What set?

Technics TZ700. The bullet style was really appealing and I managed to snag a new one for a great price. The tuning is described as flat and it just sounded better all around to me than the Dark Matter within the first 15 minutes of trying them out. I can't put my finger on it but something (midrange?) just seemed overemphasized when coming out of the DM. I went into it expecting large amounts of bass, which showed up as expected, but I guess the tuning compromised (for me) other areas that I didn't initially think I'd care about since I'm relatively new to the hobby. I tried all sorts of filter combinations and couldn't ever get it exactly where I wanted it.
