Yes, they are somewhat similar, they are very similar in sound presentation, but they are still different, Enigma+ has very deep lows and sub-bass. They go very deep, the mid frequencies are also different, in terms of HF I think that Enigma+ is also ahead. This is all from memory, because I don't have TITAN.
The Enigma + sounds so refined like the sound is polished around the edges. It's so smooth.
The treble is so pleasant and yet I can hear so much more.
Switching to the blue tops has made the treble even better for me.
I can hear cymbals and other trebly stuff very clear and not jarring like in seraph.

With Spotify the bass sounds kind of bloated . Qobuz performs wonderfully.

I have a feeling divinus velvet may not be the correct tips for the Enigma+.

Have bought a pair of brass tips to test.
Silver cables were a complete flop with Enigma but fantastic with Seraph.

So many combinations and variations in sound with cables and tips etc.

I spent about 3 hours yesterday comparing them directly back to back with the same filter nozzles and ear tips. Trust me when I say that the bass is identical, with the slight exception of possibly more sense of fullness with Enigma. But that could be due to the broader sound presentation overall, I can't be sure. If anything, Titan has SLIGHTLY more texture, but it's almost impossible to tell them apart honestly.

Titan has more prominent and better extended high frequencies. I don't consider it "better", however. I prefer my highs a bit smoother and refined, which is where Enigma sounds better for me. But it is easy to hear that Titans highs are sharper and stand out more in the mix.
I haven't owned TITAN for a long time, so I'm relying only on my memory, which is why I made a disclaimer in my post.

But I repeat that TITAN and ENIGMA+ are very similar in sound delivery. You can buy TITAN and enjoy the sound, especially since TITAN costs almost half the price

I didn't like them either. My favorite is still Azla Standard Short (black color).

Crazy pricing.
Previously, HIFIMAN HE1000se cost $3,500, Like New costs $1,600.
I haven't seen prices below $1,500 for used ones.

You bought ENIGMA+ for $1800 ))

I know. Hifiman prices have crashed !
More people will be able to experience it now. I would have got one had they been available in my country.
3500 usd was ridiculous.

I want to add that I'm stunned to hear just how closely tuned the Enigma+ and Titan are to each other. I have mine set up with the exact same filter nozzles and ear tips, and if I wasn't comparing them A/B back to back, I couldn't tell them apart. Not only do they sound virtually identical, but they are essentially equal in performance capability.

I just find this incredible, since they have different driver sets. I thought Enigma would sound much different due to the MEMS and AMT drivers, but the two IEMs are very similar.

Overall Enigma+ has a more refined sound, more soulful vocals, broader stage (especially taller) and better layering. But only noticeable by direct comparison. Bass is identical, maybe Enigma+ has the edge in fullness but it's so close I may be only imagining that. Mids are clearly in Enigma's favor, they are glorious with zero glare. The vocals have more warmth and clarity; words are more easily decipherable in the mix. Treble is where Titan has the edge, which I'm guessing is due to the quad ESTs. Titan also seems to have an edge in coherency too, which could either be due to the drivers themselves or possibly just that my Enigma+ isn't fully burned in yet. It's a small difference at this point, but again it's only noticeable with a direct back to back A/B comparison if you're looking for it.

In my opinion, Enigma+ is the best IMR offering I've heard yet. If it rates a 10/10, then Titan is a 9.5/10. They're so close that it's actually shocking. They vary mostly in presentation and mids quality, but it's more of a nuance than a concrete difference. Bob had told me a while back that they were at the same level of performance and that Enigma would possibly offer "something more". I think he was 100% right on both counts.
Thanks for reporting.
Interesting because there were some descriptions here that Enigma bass was discernibly more impactful than Titan's

I was not expecting any more something would happen .. but without asking anything I just got this email
It should be a very good news If I get the Enigma AMT ...

Today, it seems to be a true sending ... and that is a perfect news.
I will soon be able to make some A/B comparison with my absolute reference IER-Z1R with my nayparm modded NW-WM1A

It's pity there was a Brexit a few years ago .. I suppose I will have more than 20% duties to pay at arrival in my country.

Amazing news. Hope you get it soon .
You could have asked for a mark down in value.
I asked IMR to mark it down to 100 GBP and they did.

It was a cheaper price as pre order... but maybe I should have asked for a complementary mark down.
To tell the truth, since December I was not expecting to receive anything soon or late. So this week is a real surprise to get such news with no loss from royal mail.

In Every mail I sent IMR , i asked for a mark down and when I would get the iem. It's a different thing they never replied till the day before they sent it.
They said they would mark down and did so. I would say IMR kept their end of the deal in every way possible.

Little update on my Enigma+:
Still burning them in I have meanwhile changed the cable to an EA Fusion 1 and could not be happier with this combo. To me it is even more refined and open sounding without sacrificing the outstanding timbre and coherency/tonality of the Enigma+.
Compared to the Penon Quattro / EA Code 24 combo (which is a great one too) the Enigma/Fusion just takes things up a notch in every aspect being it technicality-, detail- or even timbre wise (the main strength of the Quattro imo).
You guess it, the Enigmas are just right up my alley and I have to really push myself to put in another pair of my IEM instead, be it the Neon Pro or Ascension, the Quattro, the Butastur, the DTE900 or even my IE900.
Endgame reached for me. I will stop looking for more IEM from now on (with one last incoming)...
Maybe the AüR Allusion might change my mind somewhen but until that release I am out of the IEM hunt (leaving room for TWS and headphones oc). :xf_cool:
