Hi all,
I'm new to headphones and have a question about impedance.  I have strong knowledge about good audio equipment, but only speakers/amps where impedance is very simple.
So far my headphones are Focal Spirit Ones, Polk Audio Ultrafocus 8000, Polk Ultrafocus 6000 (which will really just be used on my iPhone) and I have a pair of AKG Q701s on order.
When I read, "use this amp if you have high impedance phones", does that mean a higher number, or less resistance?  And how should I discern what aftermarket cable I should use with what amp and headphone?
The AKG is the pair I care more about for the answer.  The integrated amp I'm using is a Cambridge Audio 550A, and the main source would be a Pro-Ject RM5.1SE.
would the Cambridge suffice?
Sorry, I know groups of questions can be annoying...

The impedance is measured in ohms. Higher ohms means higher impedance. There are other factors that would influence what kind of cable you choose more than the impedance of a headphone.
