Not normally being one to start threads asking for info that's probably already been divulged, I've gone against my better instincts and asked this:

How much of an audible improvement could I expect to hear, particularly in areas such as soundstage, imaging and extension at both ends? I'm not so bothered about firmware, or form factor, and want to focus on SQ. Would I be better off just getting a higher end amp (given the iMods ample 240gb hd)?

The opinions of people who have owned both (or all) would be welcomed.

Edit: for use with CIEMs and mid to top tier universals.
