That often happens if you get a fresh one over here. If it's sat on the shelf for 10 mins the fat congeals and you don't notice it...mmmmuch better!

I started to avoid them after I heard they discovered mad cow disease in some of the meat when they had the outbreak in the UK

Heck, if there's a nation that doesn't really require an injection of madness, it's probably us Brits

I don't know if this is true (in fact, more than likely not), but a friend of mine who used to work at McD's insists that they put meal worms in there burgers as filler--that unique flavor you like?

C'mon guys, can we get real.

McDonalds is the devil you know. Yes there are far healthier places to eat but I assure you there are far worse ones also. You don't go to Mikkie-Dees to have a healthy meal. You go to Mikkie-Dees because you know what you're gonna get. FAST FOOD!! I'm sure most of us at one point in our lives have been visiting an unfamiliar place, got a little hungry but didn't know what to eat. Then all of a sudden, you spot the golden arches and that big ole grin spreads across your face. Did you really want something healthy right then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yo u wanted something to eat and you wanted it quickly!

Regarding the ads,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,absolutely horrible. I totally agree that they are trying way to hard to capture their target audience. You can't fake cool, you just have to be it

Man, don't remember the last time I visited McDs. Used to go there ALL the time when I was a kid. Never figured out why people like their fries so much, maybe I'm immune to the addictive additive they put in. I like Jack in the Box fries a whole lot better. We had a new In and Out open in our area a couple of years ago, but I never went there. Maybe I'll give 'em a try in the summer. We have this burger joint called Nations. Their specialties is rare burger (I like 'em bloody and nobody does it better than these folks), chili dog, and apple pie. Good stuff.

Man I can feel my arteries hardening and my blood pressure peaking just thinking about it.

At In-N-Out, mine is double-double, animal style, with fries "well done".

But hey, this "Superb Burgers", would it be "Best Burger"? Because there's a "Best Burger" near me that serves a hamburger with Pastrami on it too! I tried it once, and it's a lot of meat...

Actually, it's "Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun!" Yeah their marketing worked.

But anyways, as to their new marketing blitz, I remember reading that McD's has really lost all of the market share for college/teen audiences. So this is probably them trying to win back the market share. Although yes, McD's sucks, their double cheeseburgers are still a steal at 1 dollar...

A great Chef of French cuisine made an evaluation of the fries of this type of restaurant some years ago. McDonalds was at the top of the class for the taste. But if you want to keep an eye on your health you must remember an important element: the smallest the frie gets the most deadly it become
biggrin.gif
. Simple matter of ratio between the oil the frie contain and the total weight of the frie.
The paradox is: health is «promoted» by big fries....

Man, say whatever you want, but sometimes, nothing hits the spot like a Big Mac, a Coke, and a large order of fries. McDonald's isn't haute cuisine -- or even the best of the fast food restaurants -- but it sure is good once in a while.

Near the top of the fast food list for me is a Jumbo Jack, two tacos, and an Oreo Cookie Shake from Jack in the Box.

I still like their fries. 3 or 4 times a year I go to a McD and just get a large order of fries, nothing else.

I don't eat many burgers any more, but if I want one for a change, I'll go to Wendy's.

I agree with your position, but the industry of fast food is working overclock about your «once in a while»...

P.S. It's not a haute cuisine thing but it's how you can make your customer a «substance» addict.

Try a little cuisine experience: The following recipe is what we call a «Pâté chinois».
In the bottom of a 4 inches pan put 1 1/2 inch of ground beef (previously sauté with onions) on top you put 1 inch of corn (50/50 cream and whole). Finally you put 1 inch of mash patatos. The whole thing goes in the oven at 350F for about 45 minutes. You serve the undividual portions with ketchup. Your «indice glycémique» will goes through the roof and I can assure you that you will sense the urge to serve a second portion and maybe a third.... It has also little to do with haute cuisine, it's simply a physiological response...

has anyone read Fast Food Nation?

it's pretty hardcore left wing, but some of the journalism is pretty neutral and solid and frankly, very frightening.

i suggest you check it out.

i don't eat at fastfood places because (hopefully) my choices as a consumer will actively affect and bring about (ok i know this is super college kid wishful thinking) corporate responsibility.

McDonalds, Pepsi, yada yada yada none of these companies take any responsibility for their food. Sure, they don't have to, theres no law, but it's pretty damn sad when you're serving beef which has 20% chance of containing ecoli to millions of people every day.

I've known people who've lost jobs in the cattle industry, dairy industry and even just the beef industry because big companies are consolidating, making working places unsafe, food unclean and very hazardous in order to maintain profits. this is NOT my speculation, this is what i have witnessed, i've tried to maintain an unarbitrary stance on corporations as best i can, but companies like Philip Morris/Kraft are downright evil in the way they handle small business.

don't really want to go into this now, so this is my final say.

They play that same theme song "I'm lovin it" in just about every language imaginable. My friend took a trip to Hong Kong, South Korea and Macau, and that same tune ran during every trip.

In-n-Out - dbl dbl animal style
