Welcome to the ZEN dual stack rack™ !

Zen.Stack.02.png

First version of my 3d printed rack and yes, its not 100% perfect yet (all these  curves!) and the color choice is questionable :sunglasses:
Hope the hotheaded CAN will not melt the plastic when bursting out its unused class A energy over time!
Sadly this not ZEN Stream ready yet for the ultimate ZEN triple stack rack™, since I don't have a third ZEN shaped device.
Here is a 1000$ thanks

I am loving this pair up… LCDs come alive without eq.

Can anyone advise on whether I should have power match engaged when using Zen DAC V2 with my Focal Elegia's? From what I understand the power match is meant for higher ohm cans and the Elegia's are relatively low at 35 ohms

Power match is a not so fancy way of saying “gain”

At that impedance, you should be fine without “power matching” (high gain)

Arrived today, my first headphone setup since the late 1970's when I had a Koss HV/1A plugged into an Onkyo receiver. That was the old way, this is the new way to start my journey yet again, much later in life.

Listening to Pink Floyd - The Endless River (full album @ 24 bit / 44.1 kHz) on this setup, and it sounds amazing! I can already tell this new hobby could get expensive real quick, if I'm not careful... :headphones::musical_score::money_with_wings:

Genuinely hope you get pulled away into moments of listening where the world around you consists of nothing but the music you love in bit perfect clarity.

Also, if you want to try something that is amazing, and has no business being amazing, look at the Koss KPH30i - they look so damn cheap, but it’s purely deceptive.

Those look amazing (spec-wise) for a portable setup. I'm not looking for any portable gear (currently), but I'll keep these in mind. I was a big fan of Koss back in the day (when dinosaurs roamed the earth). :)

That's just it - they are DECEPTIVE - I have a number of headphones, and these are in my top 3 go to on desktop with stationary DAC/AMPs... they are THAT GOOD.. easily as good listening as my HD58X Jubilees. They aren't just for mobile, although that is a huge plus (also need a proper mobile DAC AMP... there are so many...)

Enjoy man!

So far I'm impressed. I listened to some Heart - Dreamboat Annie, some Tool - Fear Inoculum, and now the Pink Floyd album I posted. I'll check out some of the jazz I have in my library later, but I'm sure it will sound great.

I think I have determined that I don't like the bass boost feature, even with some of the more heavy rock as it gets a bit muddy. I do have to use the power match with these cans, but it drives them nicely with the volume around the 2:00 position. I'll probably want to get the Zen CAN next month to see how that improves the overall sound.
