iFi Launch competition – guess the upcoming new product!

 
At AMR/iFi, as you know, we like to do things a little different.
 
Meet 'Skin' – the iFi mascot for our skunkworks (what else of course

'Skin' is pleased to announce a joint competition to run concurrently here and on another computer forum.

Question – guess the new product

Close of competition – 15 Sept.

 
When we shall announce the actual new product that will be launched globally on the same day.
 
Prizes – the correct guesses will be placed into a hat and Skin will draw out 5 winners from each forum. So there are two sets of prizes for each forum.
 
 
1^st Prize - The New iFi Product + Gemini Dual-Headed USB cable
2^nd Prize - The New iFI Product + Mercury USB cable
3^nd to 5^th Prize - The New iFI Product
 
 
Special Prize! those who also explain correctly WHY our skunkworks mascot is called 'Skin' will go into special hat. This is a little side bonus.
 
 
 

How to guess:

Between now and 15 September, every few days or so, we shall leak clues.
 
All you have to do is state your answer:
 
Range: eg  nano or micro or Retro
Model: eg  iCAN
 
and also why you guessed this model (you do not have to explain your guess but we thought it would be fun this way for everyone!)
 
You can guess as many times as you like. But of course, each person may only win one prize (even if you double-entered via the two forums).

Model: iUSB 3.0 or iUSB2 (not sure what the naming will be)

Reasons:

1. iUSB is the among the few products of the current range that uses a power socket.

2. iFi also need a new power supply for their iDAC2

3. Gemini cable for 1st price only works with IUSB

4. Active noise cancellation of power supply (so cool)

Reason:  Since iFi Audio has discovered thru the iPower that the design for clean power can still be improved, it is but prudent to improve the iUSB and further improve the supply of US power into the  nano and micro line, including the new iDAC 2.
 
Skin:  The 'skin' mainly function as the protector of the human body from pathogens and from the external environment and prevents damage to the internal body parts and organs. In correlation to hifi audio, Skin will be the protector of pure hifi sound coming from the source until it reaches the speaker/headphones. Skin will ensure that the pure audio signal being produced by a source will be preserved and kept away from the contaminants.

Reason:  IUSB is the only device which uses the Ipower. Also, prizes are allocated with the usage of IUSB (yes, helpful clues). 
 
Skin:  IUSB may changed its skin completely and come with fresh, new design. Also "Skin" may be referred protector (like in the nature) of pure sound signal.

Because i think that idsd is the amazing product of new hifi world there is alot of dacs in hifi world now but not much product has this price performance result if they upgrade this this amazing product it will be make revolution of hifi

Reason:  There really are only 4 models left to pick from when you gave us the power adapter clue: the micro iCan, the micro iUSB, the micro iPhono, and the nano iCan.  I'm guessing that the micro iCan and the nano iCan are the two best selling out of the four, so they would be the models most likely to justify spending the R&D on.  Since you guys just released the iDAC2, I'm guessing that you're also going to release an amp in the micro range to pair up with it.

I didnt notice the clue part because I was mobile ATM so had to edit. The new power adapter and noise cancellation features led me there.

I don't think having a separate nano line makes sense. Most people want the flexibility of a battery so it's portable. But at home with the ipower they can have both. It doesn't fit the retro stuff so that's ruled out too. So I'm guessing

Since the iusb has even less noise than the ipower, it can't be for that. Idsd is still pretty good. The ican can use the upgrade for home use though since it can be paired with the new idac2. In fact plug in the Gemini to the idac2 connected to source then line out to ican2 powered by ipower sounds like a pretty sweet setup.
